GMUNDNER KERAMIK PLATES FOR THE WINNERS OF THE HAHNENKAMM RACE

A tribute to sport and craftsmanship

The Hahnenkamm Race is an integral part of the Kitzbühel tradition. From 20 to 26 January 2025, the Hahnenkamm, famous for its breathtaking steepness and seemingly endless jumps, was once again the scene of top sporting performances and unforgettable moments. Amidst snow-covered peaks and an atmosphere that makes the heart of every winter sports enthusiast beat faster, the spirit of competition merged with the unspoilt charm of the mountain world. The spirit of the Alpine way of life, which is deeply rooted in the backdrop of the Tyrolean Alps, permeated the entire event and turned the days into an Austrian-style celebration. This also included the special trophies from Gmundner Keramik, which the traditional manufacturer produced especially for the occasion.

In a race that was hard to beat in terms of drama and excitement, the best of the best triumphed – true masters of downhill and slalom skiing. In addition to medals and the applause of the cheering spectators, the winners received a special honour: at the award ceremony in Kitzbühel, they were presented with artistically designed Hahnenkamm plates from the renowned Gmundner Keramik Manufactory. The ceramic plates were lovingly handcrafted with motifs that were carefully applied by skilled hands. Each piece is unique, created to honour the athletes‘ exceptional achievements. Painted with masterful precision and painstaking manual labour, the trophies reflect the tradition and passion that the name Gmundner Keramik has always embodied. The plates symbolise sporting success and are also a tribute to Austrian craftsmanship.

The Hahnenkamm Race, whose origins date back to 1931, is a sporting event and at the same time a tribute to the Alpine way of life, which is an expression of the connection between man and nature. Spectators – from dedicated fans to those experiencing the magic of the Streif for the first time – witnessed a spectacle that goes beyond pure competition. The backdrop of the snow-covered mountains, the enthusiasm of the people and the tradition of skiing merge to create a memorable experience.

While the memories of Kitzbühel are still fresh, we are already looking ahead: in February 2025, the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships will begin in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, another highlight on Austrian soil. There, the Alpine spirit that characterises the country and its people as well as the love for the mountains will once again unfold its radiance.
