Directions and parking

Arriving by train: Take the train to Gmunden station. From the station you can either hop on the tram to Gmundner Keramik (tram stop Gmundner Keramik) or walk the short distance (10-minute walk).

Arrival by car: There are adequate parking spaces for cars and buses in the Gmundner Keramik manufactory’s car park.

Gmundner Keramik is a symbol of Austria on par with the Sacher Torte or the Wiener Schnitzel. The tour of the manufacturing process was entertaining and well presented. You can also take a piece of clay home with you. Unfortunately, the production itself was closed when we visited in summer due to factory holidays. Nonetheless, we saw a great deal. However, a little more information could have been provided compared to other factory tours. The showroom is huge and the mix and match options for the ceramics are enormous.
