Care instructions and tips for your Gmundner ceramics
Gmundner Keramik products are handmade quality products. They can withstand a lot and are durable. With the right care, they will stay beautiful and look like new for even longer.
Dishwasher
You can clean Gmundner ceramics in the dishwasher at any time. Our recommendation:
- Wash at a maximum of 50 °C. This is gentle on the material.
- Use washing-up powder instead of tabs. Powder can be dosed and is less aggressive.
- Allow water vapour to escape completely after the wash cycle. This prevents limescale stains.
- Regularly straighten bent wires in the dishwasher basket. This prevents your crockery from knocking against each other.
Microwave
You can use Gmundner ceramics in the microwave at any time. Our recommendation:
Only use completely dry crockery in your microwave after the wash cycle. Otherwise it may heat up too much due to the residual moisture.
A little tip:
Use the microwave as a practical plate warmer. Simply place the plates in the microwave for a few seconds.

Crafted after the initial designs from 1974, the Altenburg vase is based on the artistic vision of Franz Josef Altenburg, great-grandson of Emperor Franz Joseph I and one of Austria's most significant ceramic artists. His works are characterized by clear forms, artisanal precision, and a deep connection to the tradition of ceramic art.
The Gmundner ceramic bong originates from a satire article and an art project from 2023 as part of the "Academy of Ceramics Gmunden". Due to high demand and media attention, we have further developed the bong with our ceramicists. Each bong is handcrafted, making every piece an authentic unique item. It is currently available in three different designs: "Ice Blue", "Sage Green", and "Peach". The bong comes with a matching glass insert made of high-quality borosilicate glass with a standard grind of 14.5 mm and is fully functional. Personalizations and custom designs are also available upon request.
